Empowering Visionaries and Protecting Ideas

I have spent my career at the intersection of law and entrepreneurship, empowering and educating entrepreneurs, innovators, and future lawyers. My goal is to ensure that those shaping the future have what they need to protect their businesses and ideas, using all the legal tools available.

My own experience as an entrepreneur influenced my law career. Before earning my law degree, I started and sold businesses and provided business and marketing consulting. I am familiar with the challenges and opportunities faced by my clients and provide legal advice that is not only sound but also practical and business-minded.

As an attorney, I advise clients on all manner of intellectual property and business transactional matters. As a law professor, I guide law students in the Richmond Law School Intellectual Property and Transactional Law Clinic, providing similar services to clients who cannot afford an attorney.

Presentations & PUBLICATIONS

I regularly speak and present on topics at the intersection of law, creativity, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on intellectual property, startup law, copyright, and the role of technology in creative industries. My talks have been featured at national conferences like the AALS Annual Clinical Conference, in university classrooms, and in unconventional spaces such as Burning Man, where I explore how copyright law interacts with artistic expression. I’ve also been a guest on legal industry podcasts and contribute to programs supporting emerging entrepreneurs through institutions like the University of Richmond and RVA Works.
